I’ve been a web applications developer for about 12 years now, specializing in LAMP environments (but also plenty of Oracle - LAOP?). I’ve also been a project manager, entrepreneur, construction worker, DJ, ABD political science grad student, teacher, surfer, and gearhead. So I’m sort of like a slightly different version of the Village People all rolled into one. …Well, maybe not. I’ve worked for, among others, Ask Jeeves, E-Trade, Georgetown U, Stanford U, and currently U Penn.
I hail from Newport, Rhode Island, and I’ve also lived in CA, DC, VA, PA and Tokyo. I’ve driven coast-to-coast across the US four times (including a 3 week trip with my wife and 2 year old son) - I’ve at least passed through all but 7 of the 50 states).
After moving to PA in 2003, my wife Maria and I bought a “contractor’s dream” house that has kept me busy with home improvement projects. Somewhere in there we had another son. Last year we had a fantastic experience living in Tokyo for six months.
