Narcissistic personality disorder is caused by extreme insecurity during one's early childhood. People with it are forever trapped at a six year old's emotional level, although they are EXTREMELY good at hiding this. They are often compulsive liars.. Also, appearance is far more important than substance for them, so they make terrible parents. They are terrible at keeping promises and they are also often secret abusers of their spouses and children.
