    Friday, 6/25: Shibuya - When we left the mall, the rain had stopped. We took a short bus ride to Shibuya. In addition to being Tokyo's top nightlife spot, it's also a great shopping district. For the most part, shopping became unfun for me years ago in the US, as all the little shops I remember from my youth have been replaced by the utter, bland sameness of nationwide chain stores. But Japan is still dominated by small shops, and you never know what you might find in them. One of the shops that is not small, however, is Tokyu Hands, which is just down the road and off camera to the right of this picture. It is the ultimate department store. They simply have everything, and in at least 12 different colors too.
