Turning Off Comments For a While

Even with the WordPress “spam words” filtering in place, I’m still getting flooded with spam comments (hundreds per day get through - there are probably hundreds more that the filters block). The spammers are getting very good at posting spam with nonsense words and inscrutable site names - you can’t even tell what the spam is for sometimes. I’m turning off comments until I can find a better solution, or until the spammers go away (hey, a boy can dream).
